Opening in Slovenian market
During our time of operating, Kometos solutions have been exported to nearly 40 different countries. However, there are still unopened markets close by. The first delivery to Slovenia became relevant when our new customer, Perutnina, discovered Kometos thawing solutions while browsing various thawing options on the internet.
Perutnina is one of the largest food processors in Slovenia and manufactures high-quality chicken meat products for the European market. In the raw material thawing process, the customer had been using a small thawing cabinet, but its capacity was deemed insufficient. The customer has also utilized traditional room temperature thawing, which, however, is time-consuming and requires a lot of production space. The need to increase thawing capacity was significant, so the decision to make the purchase was easy: Kometos thawing system MTC-15 is delivered by road freight.
In Slovenia, there were nearly 1,200 food industry companies operating in 2022, employing over 17,000 people. The size of the food industry in Slovenia is approximately 3.2 billion euros, and the country’s food exports mainly consist of food preparations, milk, and cream. Prepared or preserved meat accounts for 4% of food exports. Croatia and Italy are the largest export markets for Slovenia.
